Rationale:
To begin with, my main motive for a website was to encourage young adults age 25 to 30 to be aware that legalizing gay marriage is important. It is important because when their children are born, they should be in a safe environment. As 1 out 10 people are gay/ lesbian/ bi/ transsexual, they should not be bullied for being themselves. This website contains research, ethos, karios, and big name. The research shows mainly statistical facts, I thought it was important for statistical facts to be shared because it is hard to convince educated young adults without official reasons. Leading to ethos, as it creates trust and credibility due to convincing facts and “partnering” with a recognized organization. Another element is karios, this is because with quotes and information I am sure young adults will be convinced to pledge by writing a letter to their local government for change. And lastly contains big names, I believe I cleverly used relevant and important big names for their quote on legalizing gay marriage. Hendrik Hertzberg is a liberal journalist, who writes for New York Times. Since New York Times is widely known and popular amongst young adults it allows my website homepage to immediately become more interesting and important recognized. Anne Hathaway is an actress, who is born in 1982 which is near to most ages of young adults therefore it creates an impact towards my target audience because film industry grabs more media attention. And lastly Barack Obama, being the president he has powerful authority therefore my target audience will be motivated to change their opinion and support gay marriage by pledging.
